Shubert Organization Acquires Sardi's, Folding Landmark Restaurant Into Theater District Landlord

The Shubert Organization already owned the building. Now it owns the restaurant inside it, after nearly a century of Sardi's operating as an independent business on Shubert's leasehold. The acquisition closed this week, and the doors shut the same day.
