The Eric Ericson Award (EEA) is perhaps the world's most prestigious competition for young choral conductors, under 36 years of age. With international brilliance, high artistic ambitions and a strong foundation in Eric Ericson's legacy, the award gives the next generation of choral conductors a unique springboard towards an international career. EEA 2027 happens in two phases: a pre-selection phase based on recordings (applications are open!), and final rounds with eight semi-finalists and three finalists, 20–23 October 2027 in Stockholm, Sweden. The winner recieves the opportunity to perform productions with eleven EBU Media Choirs, including the RIAS Kammerchor Berlin, the BBC Singers and The Swedish Radio Choir. First prize is 100,000 SEK and two runners-up receive 25,000 SEK each, kindly donated by the Rosenborg-Gehrman Foundation. A travel grant application is available to applicants outside of Europe selected for the semi-finals. Last day to apply: 1 February 2027.
