Musical Chairs listing
For most violinists, performing a concerto with a full orchestra is rare. Blue-T welcomes violinists and other non-piano soloists to experience this at Yokohama Minato Mirai Hall, a hall dedicated to classical music, about 30 minutes from Tokyo. You may perform a concerto in full or a single movement. Repertoire is your choice, provided the orchestral score is freely available via IMSLP; any missing parts will be arranged by our conductor and composer, Takashi Niigaki. Open to any age, nationality and level (professional, amateur or student). Each participant receives a concerto performance with orchestra, a professional recording (8-microphone setup), feedback from our resident piano faculty jury (who also judge the concurrent Piano Division), and a pre-rehearsal session at our Tokyo studio. Held alongside our Piano Division, sharing the same orchestra, venue and dates.
