Warren's trajectory from regional Virginia theatre to Broadway stardom accelerated through a series of increasingly prominent roles that showcased her capacity for both contemporary musical storytelling and historical interpretation. Her breakout work in Shuffle Along (2016) and Bring It On (2012) established her as a versatile leading lady, but her 2019 performance as Tina Turner in the eponymous musical—a role she originated on Broadway at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre—became the defining achievement of her career, earning her the 2021 Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical. Now an established Broadway leading lady, Warren continues to anchor major theatrical productions with the vocal power and dramatic authenticity that have become her signature.
