Bourzgui made his professional debut in 2021 as Haled in the national tour of The Band's Visit, quickly establishing himself as a performer of considerable vocal and dramatic range. His breakthrough came with his portrayal of Tommy in the Goodman Theatre's 2023 production, which earned him a Jeff Award and led directly to his Broadway debut in the same role at the Nederlander Theatre in 2024, where he received a Theatre World Award. Since then, he has become one of Broadway's most sought-after leading men, moving seamlessly from the rock opera landscape to classical mythology in Hadestown and contemporary drama in We Live in Cairo, marking him as an emerging major talent.
