Defining moments and milestones
After earning his master's degree from Indiana University's Jacobs School of Music under the tutelage of soprano Carol Vaness, Andres Acosta entered the professional opera world through competitive young artist programs at Merola and Minnesota Opera in 2017–2018. His breakthrough came with his luminous performance as Timothy Laughlin in Greg Spears's contemporary opera *Fellow Travelers* at Minnesota Opera in 2018–2019, a role he reprised at multiple major houses and which established him as a vital interpreter of new works. Since then, Acosta has built a diverse repertoire spanning canonical roles and world premieres, earning recognition as an emerging lyric tenor of considerable artistry and range.
