Andrés Máspero emerged from his Argentine musical foundation to establish himself as one of the world's preeminent chorus directors, beginning his professional career in 1974 at the Teatro Argentino de La Plata. Over five decades, he has held principal chorus directorships at the hemisphere's most distinguished opera houses—the Teatro Colón, Dallas Opera, Gran Teatre del Liceu, Oper Frankfurt, and the Bayerische Staatsoper—before his celebrated tenure at Madrid's Teatro Real from 2010 to 2023. His legacy of choral excellence, recognized by Argentina's Konex de Platino award in 2019, reflects a career devoted to the highest standards of operatic vocal preparation and artistic leadership.
