Soghomonyan emerged from the Armenian conservatory system as a promising baritone, winning the nation's highest artistic honor in 2006 while still a student. His artistic reinvention as a dramatic tenor beginning in 2017 revealed a voice of heroic proportions ideally suited to the Verdi canon, and he has since become a fixture at major European opera houses.
