Principal Dancer
A classically refined principal dancer of the Bolshoi Ballet, Artemy Belyakov has established himself as a master of the great romantic and classical male roles, earning the Prix Benois de la Danse in 2024 for his commanding interpretation of Ivan IV.
Defining moments and milestones
Belyakov emerged from the Bolshoi Ballet Academy in 2010 to join the Bolshoi Ballet Company, where he rapidly established himself as a principal dancer of exceptional range, commanding both the classical male repertoire and dramatically complex contemporary roles. His career trajectory has been marked by consistent recognition—including a Golden Mask Award in 2021 for his portrayal of Albrecht in Giselle and the prestigious Prix Benois de la Danse in 2024 for his performance as Ivan IV in Yuri Grigorovich's Ivan the Terrible. Now in his early thirties, Belyakov remains at the height of his powers, a fixture of the Bolshoi stage and an ambassador of Russian classical ballet on the international circuit.
