Christiane Eda-Pierre was a French soprano from Martinique who was celebrated for her brilliant coloratura and her interpretations of Mozart and French Baroque repertoire. She performed at the Paris Opera, Metropolitan Opera, and Salzburg Festival. She was the first Black woman to sing a leading role at the Paris Opera.
