Born into a musical family in Cuba, Alex Cuba mastered traditional son and jazz idioms before immigrating to Canada in 1999, where he initially performed as part of The Puentes Brothers. Launching a solo career in 2004, he emerged as a singular voice in Latin music, crafting sophisticated fusions of Cuban tradition with contemporary production and collaborating with major artists across genres. His artistic maturation culminated in the 2022 Grammy Award for Best Latin Pop Album for *Mendó*, establishing him as one of the most innovative and respected figures in world music.
