Daniel Evans began his professional career with the Royal Shakespeare Company in 1994, initially in supporting roles before achieving early prominence as Lysander in Adrian Noble's *A Midsummer Night's Dream*, which toured to New York and Broadway. Throughout the 2000s, he became renowned for his nuanced interpretations of Stephen Sondheim's protagonists, earning two Olivier Awards for his portrayals of Charley Kringas in *Merrily We Roll Along* (2001) and George in *Sunday in the Park with George* (2006), the latter earning him a Tony nomination on Broadway. Transitioning into direction while maintaining his acting career, Evans rose to prominence as a visionary theatrical director, culminating in his appointment as co-Artistic Director of the Royal Shakespeare Company in 2016, a position that cemented his status as one of Britain's most influential theatrical voices.
