Dennis Stowe is an American musical theatre performer whose three-decade career in Broadway ensemble and featured roles has made him a fixture of the contemporary stage, distinguished by his multiple Gypsy Robe honors and his assumption of the role of Jafar in Disney's Aladdin.
Defining moments and milestones
Dennis Stowe earned his Equity card while still an undergraduate, performing in Porgy and Bess at Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera in the summer before his senior year, and made his Off-Broadway debut in Naked Boys Singing! in 1999. His Broadway debut followed in 2002 with Man of La Mancha, launching a career defined by consistent, high-volume ensemble and featured work across three decades of musical theatre. From his original cast placement in Aladdin (2011) through his assumption of the principal role of Jafar in 2022, and marked by three Gypsy Robe awards recognizing his exceptional chorus credits, Stowe has established himself as one of Broadway's most prolific and reliable performers.
