Trained at BalletMet's Dance Academy in Columbus before joining Canada's National Ballet School at age eleven, Emma Hawes entered The National Ballet of Canada's corps de ballet in 2011, where she made her professional debut in Alexei Ratmansky's *Romeo and Juliet*. Over the subsequent decade, she advanced through the ranks with meticulous artistry and technical command, earning principal status and establishing herself as a versatile interpreter of classical and contemporary repertoire. Now a Lead Principal with English National Ballet, Hawes represents the contemporary ballet dancer's cosmopolitan career arc—rooted in rigorous classical training yet equally at home in the works of today's most innovative choreographers.
