Kruger established herself through three years of professional singing in South Africa before securing a transformative decade-long engagement at Stadttheater Koblenz (2001–2011), where she developed her signature interpretations of the coloratura soprano repertoire. Her technical facility and musical intelligence attracted recognition through multiple international competitions, including victories at the Veronica Dunne International Competition and the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, as well as prestigious South African awards for her Gilda in *Rigoletto*.
