Luisi began his conducting career in Italy in 1984, establishing himself at the Graz Opera before ascending to the world's greatest stages. His Metropolitan Opera debut in 2005 inaugurated a long association with that house, where his Wagner and Verdi interpretations became celebrated for their architectural clarity and emotional depth. Today, as Music Director of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra and Principal Conductor of the Danish National Symphony Orchestra, he stands among the most sought-after conductors of his generation, with Grammy and Gramophone awards affirming his status as a major recording artist.
