Opéra national de Paris
Bass (basse chantante)
Trained at France's most rigorous conservatories and mentored through the prestigious Merola Program, François Lis burst onto the operatic stage in 2004 with a luminous interpretation of Borée in Rameau's *Les Boréades*, earning immediate critical recognition as an artist of exceptional promise. Over the ensuing two decades, he has become a fixture at leading European opera houses, particularly distinguished in Baroque and Classical repertoire, while simultaneously building a substantial parallel career as a theatre and film actor, director, and founder of the Compagnie Ornithorynque. His artistic trajectory reflects a commitment to artistic integrity and genre-crossing ambition—a performer equally at home in the pit orchestra's spotlight and the theatre's collaborative ensemble.
