Soprano (lyric)
A Nicaraguan-American soprano of lyric warmth and dramatic power, Gabriella Reyes has emerged as a compelling interpreter of the Romantic repertoire, from the Met's stages to Europe's most prestigious opera houses.
Defining moments and milestones
Gabriella Reyes trained at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee and advanced through the Metropolitan Opera's Lindemann Young Artist Development Program, establishing herself as a lyric soprano of considerable vocal power and interpretive sophistication. Her professional debut in 2016 was followed by a 2018 Metropolitan Opera debut in *Aida*, from which she has gone on to sing the great Romantic soprano roles—Mimì, Musetta, and Rosalba—at the Met, Glyndebourne, Santa Fe, Lyric Opera of Chicago, and the Bayerische Staatsoper. Named a Lincoln Center Emerging Artist by the Metropolitan Opera in 2019 and honored by the Sphinx Organization in 2025, she represents the vanguard of American lyric sopranos.
