Signature Roles
Graham Abbey's career began in childhood at the Stratford Festival in 1982, where he appeared as a forest gnome and singing fairy in Shakespeare productions before pursuing university education. After graduating from Queen's University in 1994, he returned to Stratford as an adult performer in 1997, gradually ascending to leading roles in both Shakespeare and classical drama while simultaneously developing directorial ambitions through his work as an associate director. His co-founding of the Groundling Theatre Company in 2011 marked a creative watershed, establishing him as a director of consequence, while his 2016 adaptation of the Henriad for Stratford Festival cemented his status as a major figure in Canadian classical theatre.
