Principal Dancer
Herman Cornejo is an Argentine-born ballet dancer and a principal dancer with the American Ballet Theatre. He has had leading roles created for him by Alexei Ratmansky and Twyla Tharp; his signature roles include Puck in A Midsummer Night's Dream, Mercutio in Romeo and Juliet, and the leading male role in Ratmansky's Symphony No. 9.

Introduced to ballet by his sister at age eight, Herman Cornejo trained at Buenos Aires's prestigious Teatro Colón before earning a scholarship to the School of American Ballet in New York at fourteen. His breakthrough came at sixteen when he became the youngest gold medalist in the history of the International Moscow Ballet Competition (1997), a distinction that led to his recruitment by American Ballet Theatre and a career spanning over 130 productions. Over three decades, Cornejo has established himself as a principal dancer of extraordinary technical mastery and interpretive depth, recognized with the Benois de la Danse, Dance Magazine Award, and numerous international honors, while expanding his artistic reach into choreography and contemporary ballet.
