Marchand emerged from the Paris Opera Ballet's rigorous academy to establish himself as a principal dancer of classical authority and romantic eloquence, his elegant line and technical precision exemplifying the French School's aesthetic refinement. Appointed Étoile in 2017 following a tour performance of La Sylphide in Tokyo, he has since consolidated his position as one of France's leading male dancers, earning the Benois de la Danse award twice—in 2017 for his Romeo and again in 2023 for his Prince Rudolf—while commanding the great classical and romantic roles across the international ballet stage.
