Career Trajectory

Born in Cádiz in 1986, Iván Amaya trained in classical and Spanish dance traditions before establishing himself as a choreographer of considerable range across European stages. Working fluidly between classical ballet, contemporary dance, and Spanish dance forms, he has built a reputation for intelligent, emotionally direct choreography that interrogates movement vocabulary while respecting tradition. Remaining active across creation and performance, Amaya continues to develop his artistic practice as an established voice in contemporary European dance.
