Marchand joined The Ballet de Monte-Carlo in 1998 as a young dancer emerging from Lyon's conservatory, gradually establishing himself within the company's dramatic classical repertoire before achieving principal dancer rank in 2007. His subsequent engagement with the Royal Swedish Ballet broadened his artistic scope, exposing him to both Balanchine's abstract classicism and the contemporary vision of choreographers like Mats Ek, while earning the Mariane Orlando scholarship in recognition of his excellence. In recent years, he has transitioned toward choreography and composition, becoming a creative force within European dance institutions.
