Soprano (coloratura)
Jessica Pratt is a British-Australian coloratura soprano whose crystalline voice and interpretive depth have established her as one of the preeminent interpreters of the bel canto repertoire in the 21st century.
Defining moments and milestones
Jessica Pratt's ascent from Australian prodigy to international bel canto specialist began with her 2003 Australian Singing Competition victory, which opened the doors to European study under Renata Scotto and other master teachers. Her 2007 European debut as Lucia di Lammermoor at Como established her as a soprano of exceptional technical command and interpretive maturity, leading to engagements at the world's most prestigious opera houses. Over the past seventeen years, she has become the definitive interpreter of the coloratura heroines of Donizetti, Rossini, and Bellini, performing more than 100 times in the role of Lucia alone while accumulating a 48-role repertoire that spans from Mozart to contemporary works.
