Baritone
Signature Roles
Since his 2007 Metropolitan Opera debut as Fiorello in *Il barbiere di Siviglia*, John Moore has established himself as a burnished baritone of rare versatility, equally commanding in classical roles from Mozart to Verdi and as a champion of contemporary opera. His creation of leading roles in world premieres by Missy Mazzoli, Kristin Kuster, and other major composers has positioned him at the forefront of new music advocacy, while his performances at houses including Seattle Opera, Welsh National Opera, and Glyndebourne Festival Opera attest to his mastery of the traditional canon. A graduate of Simpson College and the Metropolitan Opera's Lindemann Young Artist Program, Moore has made Minnesota Opera his artistic home while maintaining an active national and international presence.
