Defining moments and milestones
A mezzo-soprano of commanding presence and vocal richness, Katharine Goeldner emerged from the American heartland to build an international career spanning opera houses from New York to Paris. After her 1988 professional debut as Cherubino at Salzburg Landestheater, she developed into a sought-after interpreter of both standard repertoire and contemporary works, earning particular distinction for her signature portrayal of The Composer in *Ariadne auf Naxos* and her award-winning performance as Ma Joad in *The Grapes of Wrath*. Now an established artist and dedicated pedagogue, she continues to perform at major venues while mentoring emerging singers through her private studio and master classes.
