Heldentenor (Jugendlicher Heldentenor)
Klaus Florian Vogt is a German Heldentenor whose ethereal yet powerful voice has made him the preeminent interpreter of Wagner's most demanding heroic roles, from his signature Lohengrin to his recent completion of the Ring cycle.
Defining moments and milestones
Beginning as a horn player with the Hamburg Philharmonic State Orchestra in 1988, Klaus Florian Vogt reinvented himself as a vocalist, studying at Lübeck Academy of Music before making his operatic debut in 1997. His breakthrough came with Lohengrin at Theater Erfurt in 2002, a role that would define his career and lead to triumphant debuts at the Metropolitan Opera, La Scala, and Bayreuth Festival. Since 2007, he has been a regular at Bayreuth, systematically mastering the Wagnerian heroic repertoire while establishing himself as a sensitive concert and lieder artist.
