From her 1998 professional debut at Opera Philadelphia, Latonia Moore steadily built a reputation as a soprano of uncommon vocal power and interpretive maturity, choosing to deepen her craft at the Academy of Vocal Arts rather than immediately joining the Met's young artist program. Her breakthrough came with a celebrated 2012 Metropolitan Opera debut as Aida, stepping in on short notice for a live broadcast that showcased her commanding presence and crystalline dramatic soprano voice. Over the past decade, she has become the preeminent Aida of her generation, performing the role over one hundred times at the Met and at the world's leading opera houses, while simultaneously establishing herself as a definitive interpreter of Verdi's other great soprano roles and earning three Grammy Awards for her recordings with the Metropolitan Opera.
