Beginning his serious pursuit of acting at fourteen, Namir Smallwood trained at the prestigious University of Minnesota/Guthrie Theater program before establishing himself as an essential ensemble member at Chicago's Steppenwolf Theatre Company, where he has since 2017 delivered a series of acclaimed performances in contemporary and classic works.
