Director
After training at Goldsmiths and LAMDA, Frecknall advanced through the institutional mentorship of Britain's leading theatres, earning fellowships and assistant directorships that shaped her distinctive approach to classical drama. Her 2018 production of *Summer and Smoke* at the Almeida announced her as a major directorial voice, and she consolidated that reputation with subsequent revivals of Webster and Chekhov at the same venue. The 2021 *Cabaret* at the Kit Kat Club—which won her the Olivier Award for Best Director and transferred to Broadway—established her as a director of international stature capable of transforming canonical works into urgent contemporary statements.
Olivier Award for Best Director (2022) for *Cabaret* at the Kit Kat Club, Playhouse Theatre, a production that also won the Olivier Award for Best Musical Revival and swept all four acting categories
Goldsmiths, University of London (BA Hons, Drama and Theatre Arts, First Class Honours); London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) (Postgraduate Diploma, Theatre Directing); National Theatre Studio Directors Course
