Milanov's conducting career began in 1994 at The Juilliard School's Pre-College Orchestra, progressing through leadership of the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra and the New Symphony Orchestra in Sofia before his pivotal 2000 appointment as Assistant Conductor of The Philadelphia Orchestra. Over the past two decades, he has established himself as a commanding presence across North American and European orchestras, simultaneously holding music directorships at Princeton, Columbus, Chautauqua, and Ljubljana while earning international recognition for his interpretations of symphonic, operatic, and ballet repertoire. His 2015 production of Bartók's *Bluebeard's Castle* received Spain's highest production honor, and his contributions have been recognized by The Columbus Foundation Arts Prize and the Bulgarian Ministry for Extraordinary Contribution to Bulgarian Culture.
