Beginning his career in 1986 with Theatre In Education and the original Schoolhouse Rock Live!, Scott Evan Guggenheim emerged as a visionary producer and director dedicated to expanding theatrical audiences and developing innovative work. Over three decades, he has established himself as a creative leader through his direction and production of both original works—most notably The MeshugaNutcracker! (2003), which achieved nationwide theatrical and streaming distribution—and celebrated revivals ranging from Sondheim on Sondheim to Jerry Springer: The Opera. As Chief Executive Officer of San Jose Playhouse and artistic leadership at 3Below Theaters, Guggenheim has solidified his standing as a consequential figure in West Coast theatre, recognized by the American Theatre Wing for his excellence in theatre for youth and audience development.
