Signature Roles
From her professional debut at fourteen in *Annie* at Doncaster Civic Theatre, Sheridan Smith ascended through rigorous training at the National Youth Music Theatre to become a commanding presence in West End musical theatre and British television. Her breakthrough roles—Elle Woods in *Legally Blonde* and Audrey in *Little Shop of Horrors*—revealed a performer of rare versatility, equally at home in comic brilliance and emotional depth, while her simultaneous mastery of straight drama, exemplified by her portrayal of Hedda Gabler at the Old Vic, established her as an artist of Shakespearean-caliber seriousness. Now in her fifth decade of performance, she remains a sought-after leading lady whose technical gifts and interpretive intelligence continue to define contemporary British musical theatre.
