Beginning as a musician with a decade-long tenure as bassist for X Makeena, Stéphane Pougnand transitioned into design practice, where his technical and artistic sensibilities converged in video direction and motion design for French theatre and opera. Over more than twenty years, he has become a trusted visual collaborator for major institutions and directors, most notably Stanislas Nordey, crafting the visual architecture for productions at the Opéra national de Paris and beyond. His parallel career as an educator at LISAA Rennes has solidified his position as both practitioner and mentor, shaping the next generation of spectacle designers.
