Trained in the rigorous Russian classical tradition at Perm before securing a Prix de Lausanne scholarship that brought him to The Royal Ballet School in 2006, where he graduated into English National Ballet's ranks in 2009. Over three seasons with ENB, he established himself as a principal dancer of rare versatility, dancing the great classical roles while also creating contemporary work, before joining The Royal Ballet in 2012, where he has since become one of the company's most celebrated male principals. His artistry—marked by technical command, dramatic intelligence, and a distinctly Russian approach to classical vocabulary—has earned him two Prix Benois de la Danse awards and international recognition as one of ballet's most compelling interpreters of the male classical repertoire.
