Signature Roles
Trained rigorously in the Vaganova method at Bulgaria's premier choreographic school, Viara Natcheva won recognition at the 1990 International Ballet Competition Varna before launching her professional career with the Ballett Company of the Aalto Theater Essen in 1991. She rose through the ranks of Berlin's major ballet companies—Deutsche Oper Berlin, Staatsoper Unter den Linden, and Staatsballett Berlin—where she danced principal roles in the classical canon and contemporary works by Balanchine, Béjart, Duato, and Robbins. Since 2011, she has established herself as a respected pedagogue and competition juror, teaching at Berlin's leading dance studios while maintaining her artistic authority in the field.
