Victor Garber's career began in Canadian regional theatre before his 1979 Broadway debut in *Sweeney Todd*, where his tenor voice and theatrical sophistication immediately marked him as a major talent. He has since alternated between Broadway musical theatre—originating roles in *Assassins* and *She Loves Me*—and dramatic roles on stage and screen, becoming equally celebrated for Shakespearean work and television performances in *Alias* and *Suits*. His sustained excellence across five decades, combined with his refusal to be confined to a single genre, has established him as one of the most respected and versatile performers of his generation.
Originated the role of Anthony Hope in the original Broadway production of *Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street* (1979), Stephen Sondheim's masterwork, establishing himself as a major musical theatre talent.
