Signature Roles
Trained rigorously at Beijing Dance Academy before pursuing advanced study in North America, Yen Han made her professional debut in 1994 as the Firebird at Zürich Opera House, launching a three-decade career as principal soloist with Ballett Zürich. There she established herself as a commanding interpreter of both classical and contemporary repertoire, working with choreographers including Mats Ek, Christian Spuck, Heinz Spoerli, and Jiří Kylián while simultaneously developing as a choreographer and educator. Her artistry—marked by technical brilliance and dramatic depth—culminated in the inaugural Swiss Dance Award for Outstanding Female Dancer (2013), cementing her status as one of Europe's most significant ballet artists of her generation.
