Impressions is a contemporary ballet double bill that premiered at the Palais Garnier in Paris on 11 March 2026, marking an ambitious exploration of how technology and classical tradition intersect in twenty-first-century choreography. The evening comprises two distinct works: 'Empreintes,' created by Morgann Runacre-Temple and Jessica Wright, which positions video projection as an active choreographic agent reshaping live movement and perception; and 'Étude,' choreographed by Marcos Morau, which deconstructs the visual and symbolic apparatus of classical ballet—tiaras, tutus, curtain calls—through investigations of shadow, reflection, and performance itself. Together, the works constitute a statement about the boundaries of contemporary dance and the interrogation of embodied presence in an age of mediation.
