Broadway Opens 2026–27 at 95% Capacity But $3M Behind Last Year

The week ending September 20, 2026 put 26 Broadway musicals in front of 236,037 paying customers at an average ticket price of $114.74, generating $27.07 million in gross revenue. That average ticket is $16.26 cheaper than the same week in 2025, a 12.4% drop that explains most of the $3.06 million year-over-year shortfall even as houses run nearly full. Sixteen weeks into the 2026–27 season, the cumulative gross of $504.1 million trails the prior season's same-point total by $42.5 million.
