Harvard University's resident theatre company, the American Repertory Theater has been one of America's most influential incubators of new work since its founding in 1980. Based at the Loeb Drama Center in Cambridge, Massachusetts, the A.R.T. has originated some of the most celebrated productions of the modern era, including the pre-Broadway runs of Waitress, Jagged Little Pill, and 1776. Under artistic director Diane Paulus, the company has become a powerhouse for reimagining both new musicals and classic texts with theatrical daring and intellectual rigor.
