August Wilson Theatre

Main entrance on West 52nd Street between Broadway and Eighth Avenue. The neoclassical facade is immediately recognizable; arrive from the south (from Times Square) for the most direct approach.

The theatre's bar and lobby can become congested during intermission, particularly for popular productions. Arrive early to secure a drink; the bar staff are efficient but volume is high. The lobby itself is relatively spacious, allowing for comfortable standing-room circulation.

Public Transit

Excellent transit access. Nearest subway stops: 42nd Street–Port Authority (A, C, E trains; 2-minute walk), 42nd Street (1, 2, 3 trains; 3-minute walk), Times Square–42nd Street (N, Q, R, W trains; 4-minute walk). The M42 crosstown bus stops nearby. From any of these stations, follow signage toward the Theatre District; the venue is well-marked.

Parking

Street parking in the Theatre District is scarce and metered. Nearest paid garages: the Port Authority garage (42nd Street & Eighth Avenue, approximately 3-minute walk) and various commercial lots throughout Midtown West. Expect $15–$25 for evening parking. Ride-share drop-off on 52nd Street itself, though traffic congestion is typical.
