Tips from the regulars
Entrance
The theater occupies the south side of Lincoln Center Plaza at 20 Lincoln Center Plaza. Primary entrance is from the plaza itself, accessible via the grand staircase or street-level entry from Amsterdam Avenue. The plaza entrance is the ceremonial approach and offers the full architectural experience; street-level entry is more direct for those in a hurry.
Intermission
Lincoln Center's plaza becomes a social hub during intermissions—the fountain and surrounding arcades fill with patrons. The bars inside the theater will be crowded; consider stepping outside to the plaza for air and space. The Chagall murals visible through the Met's glass windows are particularly luminous at dusk.
Accessibility
Data on wheelchair accessibility, accessible seating capacity, and elevator locations is not currently available. Contact the box office directly for detailed accessibility information and accommodations.
Transit, parking & directions
Public Transit
The 1, 2, and 3 subway lines stop at 66th Street–Lincoln Center (one block south). The A, B, C, and D lines stop at 59th Street–Columbus Circle (three blocks south). The 66th Street exit deposits you directly onto the plaza. The M5, M7, M10, and M11 bus lines serve the area.
Parking
Lincoln Center has limited on-site parking. The nearest major garage is the Lincoln Center Parking Garage (accessible from 62nd Street); typical rates are $20–$35 depending on duration. Street parking on the Upper West Side is heavily metered and difficult during evening performances. Ride-share drop-off is available on Amsterdam Avenue or Columbus Avenue adjacent to the plaza.
