Tucked into a converted Covent Garden warehouse, the Donmar Warehouse punches far above its 251-seat weight as one of London's most influential theatres. Since the 1990s, it has produced a remarkable stream of productions that transfer to the West End and Broadway, earning a reputation for electrifying intimacy and fearless artistic choices. Its compact thrust stage places audiences mere feet from performers, creating an intensity that has attracted the finest actors and directors in the English-speaking world.

Acoustics, seating, and what to expect
The intimate 251-seat auditorium naturally produces excellent acoustics with no seat far from the stage, ensuring clear sound projection and immersive auditory experience. The compact design is particularly suited for drama relying on psychological detail and dialogue clarity.
Centre Block Stalls seats offer the most intimate atmosphere with excellent sightlines and proximity to the thrust stage. Seats B8, B13, B29, B41, C9, C11, C30, and D10 have unobstructed views. Avoid Circle seats during longer productions due to comfort concerns, and note that rows C-D may have partial overhead obstruction from the Circle overhang.

Book online through the RCM website. Rates are competitive (£15-25/hour for a room with a grand piano). The RCM building itself — Alfred Waterhouse's 1894 Gothic Revival red-brick — is extraordinary. The Museum of Music in the basement (free) has one of the finest instrument collections in the world.
Public room hire available through the Guildhall website. Rates similar to RCM (£15-25/hour). The Guildhall's Milton Court building (opened 2013) has state-of-the-art rehearsal facilities and a 600-seat concert hall. The Barbican's café is the waiting room.
The Greenwich location is a longer journey from central London (DLR or Overground to Greenwich, 20-25 min from central London), but the facilities and the setting are extraordinary. The Painted Hall and Chapel of the Old Royal Naval College are UNESCO World Heritage sites — worth visiting regardless.
