One of Broadway's oldest surviving theaters, the Hudson opened in 1903 and has lived several lives — as a legitimate playhouse, a television studio, a conference center, and a hotel ballroom — before returning triumphantly to the theatrical fold in 2017. Its Beaux-Arts facade and ornate interior evoke the gilded confidence of early twentieth-century New York. The restoration preserved the house's architectural grandeur while equipping it for modern production demands. The Hudson's resurrection is one of Broadway's great reclamation stories.
