Named for the legendary acting couple Alfred Lunt and Lynn Fontanne, this Beaux-Arts jewel was originally a movie palace before its conversion. Its lavish interior makes it one of Broadway's most beautiful houses.
Acoustics, seating, and what to expect
Good sound quality with the Orchestra section offering immersive sound due to proximity to the stage, and the Mezzanine providing clear acoustics from its elevated position. Recent renovations (1997-1999) likely contributed to maintaining sound quality.
Center Orchestra rows D-J offer the ideal balance of detail and full-stage perspective. Center Front Mezzanine rows A-B provide excellent overhead views, though be aware of a safety bar that may obstruct shorter patrons' sightlines. Avoid far sides of Orchestra and Mezzanine, and Orchestra seats past row W due to Mezzanine overhang obstruction.
