Originally opened in 1925 as Chanin's 46th Street Theatre, the Richard Rodgers Theatre is a Broadway landmark that has hosted some of the most transformative productions in American musical theatre. Renamed in 1990 to honor the legendary composer, the theatre gained worldwide fame as the original home of Hamilton, Lin-Manuel Miranda's genre-redefining masterwork. Its intimate yet grand auditorium on West 46th Street has also seen premieres of Chicago, Guys and Dolls revivals, and countless other milestones. The Richard Rodgers occupies a singular place in the Broadway firmament.
