Vivian Beaumont Theater

The main entrance faces west onto 65th Street, directly accessible from the Lincoln Center Plaza. Arrive via the plaza for the full architectural experience—Saarinen's modernist design is best appreciated from the courtyard. For those arriving by subway, exit at 66th Street-Lincoln Center (1 train) and walk south through the plaza.

The Beaumont's lobby is intimate and can become congested during intermission. The bar service is efficient, but lines form quickly. If you prefer to avoid crowds, remain in your seat or step outside onto the plaza—the sight lines from the exterior are excellent, and the evening air on the Upper West Side is a welcome respite. The restrooms are located on the main lobby level; plan accordingly.

Public Transit

66th Street-Lincoln Center station (1 train, northbound or southbound) is the primary access point, approximately 2–3 minute walk south through the plaza. The M66 crosstown bus and M11 northbound bus both serve the area. Ride-share drop-off is available on 65th Street west of Amsterdam Avenue or via the Lincoln Center service road.

Parking

Street parking in the Lincoln Center area is extremely limited and turnover is rapid. The Lincoln Center parking garage is directly beneath the complex (accessible via the plaza level); typical cost is $20–$30 for evening performances. Alternatively, several commercial garages operate within two blocks on Amsterdam and Columbus Avenues. Public transit or ride-share (drop-off on 65th Street or via the plaza) is strongly recommended.
