Entrance
The Kennedy Center Opera House is located at 1101 First Street SE, Washington, D.C. Main public entrances face the Potomac River to the west; the primary box office and lobby access is via the main plaza entrance on the building's north side.
Intermission
The Kennedy Center Opera House features multiple bars and lounges throughout the building. The Grand Foyer on the main level is the primary gathering space during intermission; arrive early to avoid crowds. Restroom queues can be substantial during longer intermissions—plan accordingly.
Accessibility
The Kennedy Center is fully wheelchair accessible with elevators serving all public levels. Accessible seating is available throughout the Opera House; contact the box office in advance to arrange accessible seats and companion seating. Hearing loop and audio description services are available upon request.

Public Transit
Metro Center Station (Red, Orange, Blue lines) is approximately 0.3 miles northeast; Gallery Place-Chinatown Station (Red, Green, Yellow lines) is approximately 0.4 miles east. Both are a 5–7 minute walk. The Kennedy Center also operates a free shuttle service from Metro Center during performance hours.
Parking
The Kennedy Center operates a multi-level parking garage beneath the complex with approximately 1,100 spaces. Typical cost is $15–$25 depending on event duration. Street parking is limited in the immediate vicinity. Ride-share drop-off is available on the north plaza.
