
In a charming village square, the young couple Swanilda and Franz are preparing for their wedding. Their happiness is threatened when Franz becomes infatuated with Coppélia, a beautiful maiden who sits mysteriously on the balcony of the house belonging to the eccentric toymaker Dr. Coppélius. Swanilda, determined to win back her beloved's affections, disguises herself and infiltrates the toymaker's workshop, where she discovers that Coppélia is not a real woman but an exquisitely crafted mechanical doll. In a series of enchanting scenes, Swanilda dances with the automaton and explores the magical world of Dr. Coppélius's creations.
